A Tribute to Skill (21 December 2009)

Tonight the wolves' skills have been approved. They faced Anub'arak once more at heroic difficulty and smashed the bug again. With the limited number of flying frost orbs and never-ending waves of Nerubian guardians, the combat was like a nightmare, one of the hardest combats without a doubt.
Yet, the wolves displayed all their skills and the perfect teamwork yielded another brilliant victory.

Deathbringer Saurfang (10 December 2009)

Last boss in the wing was the formidable Deathbringer Saurfang. He was described as being the Lich King's most powerful death knight. After falling to Frostmourne at the Battle of Angrathar the Wrathgate, Dranosh Saurfang was raised in undeath by the Lich King and brought to Icecrown Citadel. Imbued with the power of the Scourge, the Deathbringer's duty was to bar the way of any attackers trying to enter the upper spire.

Saurfang was boiling our blood and growing stronger and stronger. This was the toughest encounter wolves faced so far in the citadel. The point we learned how to limit how much blood power Saurfang generated, we could defeat this undead orc war machine.

The Skybreaker Sank (10 December 2009)

Next was the gunship battle. We hurried our way to Orgrim's Hammer and welcomed by High Overlord Saurfang. Gunners took their positions, assault and defense teams got ready. Soon the Skybreaker, the alliance gunship under command of Muradin Bronzebeard was seen between the clouds. Two ships boarded eachother and the smell of gunpowder filled the sky.
Whenever our turrets were frozen, the assault team used their jump packs and killed the ally mage, making them functioning again.

In the end we were victorious, ally gunship along with its crew, went down and crushed on the razor sharp mounts of Icecrown.

Lady Deathwhisper (10 December 2009)

Supreme Overseer of the Cult of the Damned, Lady Deathwhisper was the second on our line. In her cathedral, she was reciting her sermons when wolves stepped in. Her followers tried to stop us, but we cracked her shield and burned down the lich.

Lord Marrowgar Shattered (10 Decemeber 2009)

Lord Marrowgar, the bone wraith was the first boss of the Icecrown Citadel raid. Pieced together by the Lich King from the bones of a thousand vanquished adventurers, he was the guardian of the Frozen Throne within The Spire, wielding the power of the throne itself.

Fighting under heavy bone storm, we managed to crush him with ease.

Starcallers (16 November 2009)

Loken's death triggered a failsafe mechanism warning the titans that Azeroth had lost its foremost guardian. Algalon the Observer has been sent to examine the situation and, if necessary, transmit a reply-code that will restructure the entire world, wiping out all of its current inhabitants.

Tonight wolves confronted Algalon at Celestial Planetarium. His quantum strikes and phase punches were tickles against our good geared tanks. Cosmic smashes were only making our hearts warmer. Collapsing Stars and Living Constellations were also handled nicely. For the big bangs we left Anoïv behind and found sanctuary inside the black holes. He couldn't feed on our tears and gave away his gift. A little bit late but still was worth to live the fight.

Moar Dots! (28 September 2009)

After like 4 years, we made another visit to Onyxia, the current broodmother of the Black Dragonflight. She was sleeping in her lair at Dustwallow Marsh. The side hatcheries were filled with deadly whelp eggs.
Wolves swarmed around the dragon and after some time, Onyxia lifted up towards the ceiling of the cavern. Lair guards and whelps were everywhere while she was spitting fire to the wolves down below. Dodging the deep breaths, killing the adds and keeping damage on Onyxia forced her to come down to the ground once more. Rest of the combat was plain execution with additional fears now and then.
She was once again our prey.

Koralon the Flame Watcher (08 September 2009)

The third and last watcher in Wintergrasp Fortress was a fire giant named Koralon. He tried to fight back with throwing some fire patches or breathing flame around, but his abilities were so weak and he was killed easily. Even easier than Emalon.

Toblaeh Wields Val'anyr (08 September 2009)

Tonight, our healer officer Toblaeh finally got his legendary hammer crafted.
After gathering enough number of fragments, all we need was to defeat Yogg-Saron with one less keeper's aid. We asked Hodir to stay out and Toblaeh threw the fragments into the mouth of the beast just before the kill to complete the process.
After the battle, Val'anyr, Hammer of Ancient Kings, was in the rightful owner's hands.

Anub'arak Smashed (03 September 2009)

The crypt lord Anub'arak was the final boss in Crusaders' Coliseum. The frozen undead insect was confronted in its lair underneath the arena. After engaging it started to summon its arachnid minions. Using the orbs of frost flying in the air, we froze the ground and didn't let them to burrow and get refreshed. Frost patches were also helpful when Anub'arak went underground, chasing us with its deadly spikes. For the last part of the fight, Anub'arak tried to use our own life essence to get himself healed, but wolves strike with full-force to crack open its cold chitin for the final blow.
The Lich King's plans were once again shattered and coliseum was fully cleared.

... of Darkness and Light (27 August 2009)

The twin Val'kyr sisters, Edyis Darkbane and Fjola Lightbane were the fourth adversaries in the Coliseum. Half of the wolves bathed in light auras and the other half in dark auras. Twins were trying to beat them with their powerful vortex spells and orbs were flying around like wisps in a marsh. However, the wolves were not easy to fool. They learned the combat fast and execution was flawless. One more twins-fight in the history was over successfully...

Faction Heroes Beaten (20 August 2009)

Tonight we faced 10 of alliance's best heroes at arena. The fight was chaotic like hell and they were formidable opponents really. Crowd control was the key to winning and we figured it out after some time. Killing them one by one, the fight became easier and easier. It was 3rd night and it was 3rd victory.

Sunday, August 16, 2009

Lord Jaraxxus (13 August 2009)

Lord Jaraxxus, the man'ari eradar was the second boss in the arena. The demon kept on spawning portals and volcanoes to gate in his servants to stop the wolves.
The wolves encircled him and stayed spread. The flames were healed through effectively sparing the untimely deaths. While dealing with the adds, he was constantly put under pressure and once again easily he was brought down.

Northrend Beasts Tamed (06 August 2009)

Been a while since we killed new bosses...
It was summer and wolves were slacking and resting. Still they fought very well on first night of the new instance Crusaders' Coliseum. First came the magnataur Gormok the Impaler. He and his kobolds went down easy after a while. Then came the two jormungars : Acidmaw and Dreadscale. Under fire and toxic clouds, wolves found a way to kill them simultaneously.

Lastly Icehowl the wendigo stepped in... By dodging his charge attack successfully, his head was crushed on walls of the arena and wolves take care of it swiftly also. Thus, ended the first night.

Yogg-Saron Vanquished (01 June 2009)

Yogg-Saron, the Beast of a Thousand Maws, was one of the Old Gods just like the infamous C'thun.
The pack was greeted by Sara(!) when they finally made their way to the prison room. Of course, Hodir, Mimiron, Freya and Thorim were there for assistance, as they have promised. Without hesitation, they started their dance with the clouds and started killing the guardians one by one. Then, Yogg-Saron showed its ugly face, but still he was immune under an impenetrable force field. The beast was trying to take away their sanity and control them like puppets. Some wolves started bashing the deadly tentacles around while others took portals to shatter Yogg-Saron's illusions and bleed its brain. Both groups succeeded on their duties and soon the Old God was no longer protected. For the last phase of the fight, they had to kill the immortal guardians and keep their sanity.
After weeks of struggling, Yogg-Saron was finally defeated. Thus, only Algalon remain unscarred inside the Halls of Ulduar. Victory was once again ours.

General Vezax Defeated (04 May 2009)

General Vezax was a faceless one who guards the prison of Yogg-Saron. His frightening sight resembled the ancient gods from Cthulhu mythos. Having no mana regeneration at all, it was a hard fight for the caster wolves. By dodging the shadow crashes, interrupting searing flames and using a few saronite vapors for a refreshment, general was easily taken down.
It was indeed a descent into madness...

Mimiron's Salvation (04 May 2009)

Mimiron, the mechagnome was meddling with its creations when wolves stepped in. First he let loose Leviathan MKII. The landmines and napalm shells were deadly enough but, wolves managed to survive. Then came the anti-personnel assault cannon, VX-001. It was spinning around, using rapid burst, launching rockets, laser barrages and heat waves. Intense healing saved the pack against this machine. Thirdly, Mimiron activated aerial command unit. Wolves dealt with the assaut bots, bomb bots and trash bots to overcome the flying machine.
As a last resort, Mimiron triggered the sequence to form V-07-TR-0N, the combination of the three units. All abilities combined, it was trying to massacre the pack. The three parts were damaged separately and crushed altogether in order to defeat this metal beast.

Freya Renewed (26 April 2009)

Another victim to Loken's deceit, Freya, the daughter of the titans, became an unwilling guardian of Ulduar. Her dominion on forces of nature and elements made her a dangerous foe. After some tries, wolves learned to control their fury and the dark will was shattered, helping her to come to senses. She also offered her assistance for the evil master.

Thorim Saved (26 April 2009)

Thorim, the faithful protector of the pacts between the races of frost, was tricked by his brother Loken to betray his frost giant allies. Years later, he discovered the truth, but Loken was prepared for this and he managed to capture Thorim to use him as a guardian of Ulduar.
When the wolves reach the arena, they found Thorim watching from high above. Half of the pack made their way from the side tunnel to his back and the combat was initiated.
He was energizing the orbs to gain more power, waving his deadly hammer Krolmir endlessly. Still wolves were strong and he was defeated smoothly. Similar to Hodir, we got his promise of aid against the "dark master".

Hodir Redeemed (21 April 2009)

After Loken's betrayal, Hodir was disappeared. We encountered him inside a chamber within the halls of winter. Wolves started by releasing some heroes encapsulated inside icy tombs. The fight was always on the run. Wolves proved being predators of cold climate by resisting the deadly icicles & hailstones, moving fast around the room when it was needed. Hodir, the great winterfather was soon defeated.

The Iron Council Smelted (21 April 2009)

Steelbreaker, Runemaster Molgeim, and Stormcaller Brundir formed the Assembly of Iron. The wolves chose the deadliest of all, Steelbreaker as their first victim. After he was defeated, they passed on to the runemaster. Fight was getting harder and harder.
When Stormcaller Brundir was left alone, he was more powerful, absorbing the essences of his fallen comrades. Yet, the pack survived the lightning storm, standing victorious once again.

Auriaya and Her Cats (20 April 2009)

Auriaya and her four pet cats were roaming the halls ahead of the bridge. The initial pull was tricky. Cat sentries were divided and brought down one by one. Her screeches were bouncing off the pack's iron will. Together as one, wolves were sharing the pain, staying alive. Swiftly and mercilessly, her life was taken...

Kologarn's Limbs Severed (20 April 2009)

The titan Kologarn was guarding the shattered walkway. His sight was quite formidable with his giant detachable arms. It took numerous tries to refine the positioning for the eye-beams and thanks to our warlock master Weqq, we found it at last. After that it was just execution.
The giant crumbled to pieces, its remains forming the stone bridge, revealing the path for the inner chambers. More bosses lie ahead...

Monday, April 20, 2009

Ignis Shattered (19 April 2009)

Within the collosal forge, Ignis the Furnace Master was feeding the flames. Under the effects of intense heat, wolves engaged the fire giant. Ignis was activating its constructs, shooting flame jets and slag-potting repeatedly.
Furs-scorched, wolves finally managed to kill it and quench its everburning forge.

Emalon the Storm Watcher (19 April 2009)

Similar to Archavon, Emalon was also residing in the vault of Winter Grasp, in the Hall of Repose. Though, this iron giant proved to be much more difficult. Anyways, after a couple of wipes, he was within the grasp of death itself...

Scrap the XT-002 Deconstructor (16 April 2009)

XT-002 Deconstructor is the guardian robot that was created by Mimiron. With its defense mechanisms, it turned out to be the first real challenge against wolves. The toys of XT-002; boombots, scrapbots and pummelers helped their master throughout the fight. In the end, everyone became familiar with its abilities and XT-002 was broken into little pieces. Scrapyard became its own graveyard.
Master-hunter Dribble's survival in the last part of the combat, was epic...

Razorscale Tamed (16 April 2009)

On the second raid night, the pack went for drake meat. Razorscale was an ironbound protodrake flying high above. With the help of harpoon turrets, wolves dragged it down on the ground and beat the hell out of it. It was slain fast, leaving the rest of the night for the second mechanical obstacle of Ulduar.

Flame Leviathan Destroyed (15 April 2009)

On the first day of Ulduar, the hungry wolves were ready. Server was unstable, disconnects were everywhere and login boss was quite solid. Yet, they did not give up. Iron dwarf army was easily defeated and boss was engaged. Siege engines, demolishers, choppers... Leviathan could not withstand against such determination. Even one of the orbital defense weapons were left intact.
Therefore, first boss of the instance was downed on the first night bringing the first achievement of the dungeon.
Afterwards, wolves moved on to kill Ignis the Furnace Master. However, Ignis was bugged and success was impossible. Wolves decided to rest and continue next evening...

Sartharion 3D "The Nightfall" (18 January 2009)

It was said that the hardest fight of the content was killing Sartharion with 3 drakes alive as a 10-men raid. Wolves formed a best-of-the-best team and went for this success. The fight was really much more complicated and deadly than its 25-men counterpart. Nevertheless, after hours of effort and dedication, the tactic was perfectly executed and the pack managed to do it.

This was something to be proud of since it was also the "Server First" for Vek'nilash realm. Downing the most difficult boss firstly boosted our faith for the upcoming Ulduar Dungeon.

Sartharion 3D "Twilight Vanquishers" (12 January 2009)

The content was cleared but Sartharion combat had a challenging mode. The wolves wanted to achieve it also and let the 3 drakes stay alive before they engage Sartharion. First came Tenebron, then came Shadron, and lastly Vesperon. The pack killed them one by one, while Sartharion wes being off-tanked.
They were victorious once again and were given the title "Twilight Vanquisher".

Malygos the Spellweaver (08 December 2008)

Granted a portion of Norgannon's powers, the blue dragon Malygos was known as the guardian of magic and hidden arcanum. He was residing at the Eye of Eternity, the highest floor of Nexus.
The combat was one of the best so far. Vortexes, sparks, shrinking shields, scions on discs... And the drakes we use for the final phase.
Everyone did great, Malygos was downed and Alexstrasza showed herself to award the wolves with a gift.
Full content is now cleared. Good job everyone!

Naxxramas Raid III (01 December 2008)

On the first day of the last month of the year, wolves came together to finish the remaining bosses of Naxxramas.
The untouched construct quarter's first adversary was Patchwerk. The abomination's strength was not enough to kill our tanks.

Grobbulus and the slimes were right after. The flesh giant was dragged around the room and defeated eventually.

The third enemy was an abomination dog created by joining dead animal parts. Gluth's hunger was endless. The zombies, it used to chew as food, were kited with precision and handled thereafter. The pack proved once again that the wolves were superior to dogs.
The last construct guardian was Thaddius the flesh titan. Electricity was his ally and he used the charges to kill his enemies. Ofcourse, wolves quickly figured out how to stay alive when positively or negatively charged and used his power against hisself.

By killing Thaddius, the door to Sapphiron's lair was revealed... The bone dracolich was still armed with powers he had when he was a living frost wyrm. Enduring the frost aura, hiding behind the ice blocks were the key parts of the combat. Another legend was history.

Kel'thuzad, the archlich was second in command for the Lich King. Once a sorcerer of Kirin Tor, he became the chief lieutenant of the powerful Lich King. Naxxramas is his commanding citadel. For wolves, it was time to meet this mighty ruler. They were well-prepared and the dread lich's spells were whipping up their rage and desire. Soon came the fall of Naxxramas... Another dungeon was cleaned fully.

Archavon the Stone Watcher (30 November 2008)

After black dragon's defeat, the pack turned their route to Wintergrasp for Archavon the iron giant. The Stone Watcher was no match for wolves really. He was crushed like a rock.

Sartharion (30 November 2008)

Inside the Chamber of Aspects dwelled the black dragon named Sartharion. Firstly, his minion drakes were confronted and slain one by one.
The isle of the Onyx Guardian was washed by lava tsunamies and the surrounding volcanoes spat fire from above. Under these conditions, wolves fought well and Sartharion was butchered.
